College Republicans Sponsor Conservative Coming-Out Day in South Carolina.

South Carolina, March 8-In an effort to stop encroaching liberalism and the
indoctrination of liberalism on college campuses, the College Republicans
are sponsoring Conservative Coming-Out Day on March 9. Voter registration,
College Republican recruitment tables, flyers, human posters, and public
speakers will highlight the day on five different campuses across the state.
Clemson University College Republicans offers a full day of activities with
recruitment and voter registration tables set up around the campus and
Governor David Beasley kicking off Youth For Beasley at a College
Republicans meeting that night. Furman University College Republicans will
blanket the campus with flyers that declare what a conservative believes in.
Conservative Coming-Out Day offers students the opportunity to 'come out of
the closet,' to publicly and proudly declare their conservatism to students,
professors, and the liberal establishment that is the university. Schools
participating include Coastal Carolina, Presbyterian College, Furman
University, Clemson University, and the University of South Carolina at
Spartanburg.

State Chairman, Austin Weatherford comments, "Every day students across the
country are indoctrinated by leftist professors who pressure students into
believing what they believe. Conservative students must stand up and fight
against a system that is set up as a platform for political parties or
intellectual sects. Universities exist to serve all students, not just
those who share the political or particular beliefs of their professors.
Conservative Coming-Out Day offers an opportunity to students to share their
opinions without recourse."
South Carolina College Republicans is the statewide coordinating
organization for the Republican youth movement. With over 1,600 members on
17 college campuses across the state, South Carolina College Republicans
plays an integral role in the election of Republican candidates as well as
the communication of a conservative message on college campuses.
